Posh Fish & Chips raises £2,537.00 for charity

Brasted’s involvement with the ‘EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival’ created a stir this September when hosting a Fish & Chip supper in aid of the only independent lifeboat station in the UK.  Since 1969 the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat organisation has been operated independently from the RNLI as a registered charity, and today Volunteers operate both an offshore and inshore lifeboat.

The fish served to 160 guests on the evening was caught by the coxwain of Caister Lifeboat Paul Williams who is a fisherman based at Caister.  He said ‘Thank you for making us one of your chosen charities, your help in organising this event is greatly appreciated; it raised £2537.00 which is a magnificent achievement, well done’.

The event is now an integral part of Brasted’s annual Events Diary.
